Careless Wanderers

Careless like the birds in the sky,
We wandered around these empty streets-
Hoping we can carry our dreams and fly,
And see where this journey leads.

We were running through the pages of this book
With the endings unknown,
Careless about the paths we took,
We were wanderers in a world of our own.

Our hearts wandered around more than our feet,
And our dreams were on top of the hills
As we began to write a fairytale in these empty sheets,
With a lot of pages left to fill.

I look at how the times have changed now,
And oh how much we’ve grown !
I can do nothing but wonder how –
We were able to be careless wanderers in a world of our own.

Australian open 2021 – 3rd round 12/02/21. Djokovic,Thiem and many others in action

The Australian open 2021 is one is the most anticipated events of the year. Amidst all the drama caused by the pandemic, fans from across the world were looking forward to some action packed tennis. As always, the tournament was off to a great start. With some 3rd round matches being held today (12/02/21),we’ve already witnessed some of the best matches in Australian open history.
World No. 3 Dominic Thiem bounced back from being two sets down and defeated Nick Kyrgios to progress to the next round. Facing a Aussie in the Melbourne arena is never an easy task, but the way in which Thiem handled the pressure deserves a lot of respect. Kyrgios came out with all guns blazing and dominated the first two sets by winning it 6-4 each. The energy that he displayed on the court was unbelievable. Unfortunately though, the same energy and enthusiasm led him to commit too many unforceded errors in the upcoming sets. The way in which Thiem fought back was impeccable , showing us the champion that he truly is. He went on to win the next two sets, and all of a sudden they had two sets each with the decider to come. When it came to the most crucial point of the match, Thiem played some of the most incredible back hand shots and came out on top.
On the other hand, we witnessed the world No.1,and the defending champion Novak Djokovic in action against young Taylor Fritz. Much to all of our expectations,Novak started off as the better man, and won the first two sets. But unfortunately for him,a slight discomfort in his lower back turned out be a big road block. Making use of the opportunity, Fritz went on to win the next two sets, and looked like he was going to cause the biggest upset of the tournament so far. But just as all champions do, Novak held on and refused to give up. Battling through the pain, he fought back with everything he had and went on to win the match.
We had a lot of amazing tennis to watch today, but in my opinion, these two matches stood out as the best. With top class players like Djokovic, Nadal, Serena, and Osaka still in the hunt, we can expect some high quality thrillers in the upcoming rounds.

Through a child’s eye

How different does the world seem
When you see it through a child’s eyes
How different does the world seem
When you lay behind man’s wicked lies.

Smiling faces and cheerful hearts,
The love among people is a beautiful sight,
Only until we’re taught to separate –
One as black and one as white.

Hatred does not grow with age,
It’s seeds are sown and watered.
These eyes started learning from the elder,
And that’s where it all started.

To these eyes, love is the only attraction,
And reasons to smile are found in legions.
But only until we’re taught to separate people –
In the name of caste and religions.

Roses for the dead

Count the hands that bring roses to the dead,
And the eyes that shed tears for the deceased.
Watch out for the lips that give comforting words,
And watch how their love has suddenly increased.

Heart-melting words come from cold hearts,
And bitter souls express sugar coated emotions,
I wonder why it is hard find droplets of love,
While in the middle of this whole wide ocean.

I wonder why the dead receive more flowers
And the living recieve more stones,
When you need flowers to bloom,
And a tombstone to mourn.

But what if we gave roses to the living?
A rose for every endeavour;a toast for every new day.
What if we wear black clothes to a home,
And have no lies no say?
